Natural meadow hay composed of grasses (Phleum pratense, Lolium italicum, Lolium perenne, Poa pratensis, Dactylis glomerata, Bromus inermis, Bromus catharticus, Festuca rubra) and legumes (Medicago sativa) from Italian fields. The production process includes selection, natural or artificial drying, ventilation, dust removal, pelleting and subsequent crumbling.
Pellettone Crumble is the ideal forage basis for a balanced diet for horses with chewing difficulties, such as elderly horses or those with respiratory sensitivities, as well as for subjects recovering from gastrointestinal disorders. Carli Pellettone Crumble is free from foreign bodies such as stones or soil, and the production process — which includes high‑temperature pelleting — sanitises the product, improves digestibility and prevents mould formation when properly stored.
Pellettone Crumble is characterised by:
- high cellulose content
- good protein content with well‑represented lysine (an essential amino acid)
- low starch and sugar levels (<12%)
- good calcium and phosphorus content in appropriate proportions
- higher caloric value compared to other forages
Pellettone Crumble maintains the fragrance and colour typical of the original forage.
Instructions for use
Pellettone Crumble hay is particularly recommended for dust‑sensitive horses. In such cases, administration with added water is advised, as well as for elderly horses or those with chewing difficulties, and for horses in recovery.
It is recommended to provide an amount equivalent to at least 2% of the horse’s body weight in dry matter: that is, a minimum of 2 kg of Pellettone Crumble hay per 100 kg of body weight (10 kg per day or more for a 500‑kg horse).
To meet additional protein and caloric requirements, it is recommended to combine Pellettone Crumble Hay with Carli Alfalfa or Carli Wafer and, if needed, supplement with lipid‑ or carbohydrate‑based concentrates.
Always ensure free access to fresh, clean water and white salt (sodium chloride) in blocks or rollers.
