Unifeed Calf Growth is a feed suitable for the nutrition of cattle, heifers, and calves, from 120 days up to 8–9 months of age.
It is recommended as a complete feed but, when conditions allow, it can also serve as a valid nutritional base for later stages, complementing other farm feeds such as coarse hay or quality straw. Compared to the product intended for the initial growth phase, it is characterized by a higher and more structured fiber content and a relatively lower starch supply, in order to avoid undesirable fat accumulation, particularly as puberty approaches. About 40% of the ingredients consist of long-fiber forages: alfalfa in various forms and grasses, which together provide a structured fiber base highly effective in promoting rumen motility, further supported by a portion of straw and other fibrous by-products of excellent quality.
Instructions for use
Unifeed Calf Growth can be used as a complete feed, left freely available to the animals during the phase that generally ranges from 120 days to 8–9 months of age. It may be administered ad libitum, but especially in the more advanced stages of the indicated period, at the discretion of the farm technician, it may be combined with coarser hay or good-quality straw. Voluntary intake may vary between 6 and 8 kg per day depending on the development of the animals and the amount of other fibers made available to them.
